Cova Santa Restaurant - A Gastronomical Dining Experience

It’s not often you come across somewhere that literally takes your breath away.

Cova Santa however is the exception.

Beautifully nestled into the Sant Josep mountains, this stunning venue is set on top of a 25 metre-deep natural cave, dating back over a thousand years.

If you’re a fan of contemporary Japanese cuisine, then look no further than here. With twists of Mediterranean flavours added to some dishes, you’re guaranteed to be blown away by a range of different and exciting flavours from start to finish delivered by Barcelona's luxurious venue, Espai Kru.

My dining partner and I indulged in 16 courses from their taster menu of what we can only describe as ‘wow’. Yes it really was that good.

From Starters of appetizing Anchovies along with a selection of Nachos and a freshly made Guacamole dip, right through to a wonderful selection of the finest raw fish. Seabream to Alaskan Salmon that fell apart in our mouths, absolutely everything was delivered to perfection.

Beef Tartar to grilled Wagyu and so many outstanding, fresh and enjoyable dishes in-between. Our personal favourite was the Wagyu and the Eel steamed muffin. With the Wagyu Beef living up to its always impeccable tender taste and the Eel muffin making us a little weak at the knees, we really cannot fault one dish that was so beautifully presented to us by the wonderful and very attentive staff.

To top it off we enjoyed desserts of Coco-Ron (rum-infused cocktail gels) served in a beautiful gold Pineapple and Chocolate Lingot.

When we hear the words ‘Cova Santa’ we automatically think of the fabulous parties that are held there, but there is a lot more to this mystical, gastronomic hilltop than meets the eye.

The restaurant is romantic, offers fantastic views, its luxurious yet relaxed and is most definitely one to remember!
